LDOD inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
All donations may be tax-deductible.
Through performances of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, LDOD strives to provide a safe environment and fun entertainment source where young adults between the ages of 17 and 29 are able to fully be themselves and not be pressured to drink alcohol or consume illicit drugs.
Young adults in the Metro Atlanta area are empowered to live the quote “Don’t dream it, be it.”
Inclusiveness - All are welcome to attend performances or join the LDOD cast regardless of race, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, class, ability, size or other social identities. Additionally, the cast follows a gender and race inclusive casting policy which allows any cast member to play any part so long as they receive screen accuracy approval and can wear cast costumes or provide their own costume.
Artistry - LDOD cast members engage in a variety of forms of art, from acting and dancing to prop and costume construction. We pride ourselves on being a launching board for rising actors and theater technicians in the metro Atlanta area.
Accuracy - LDOD strives to be a screen accurate performance and constantly works to improve not only the accuracy of the performers but also the accuracy of the props.
Growth - Those who join the LDOD cast will grow in their personal, leadership, and artistic skills as it relates to their roles in the cast.
Safety - In addition to providing a safe environment for attendees to not feel pressured to drink alcohol or take illicit drugs, LDOD cast members also adhere to an alcohol and drug-free performance policy.
Self-Love and Self-Confidence - LDOD empowers both audiences and cast members to have the courage to be their full authentic selves.
Fun - Attendees’ and cast members’ experiences at The Rock Horror Picture Show should be a fun, engaging experience filled with fantasy, escape, and comedy.
In June 2000, LDOD was formally organized. LDOD was formed to perform screen accurate productions of The Rocky Horror Picture Show every Friday night as an alternative entertainment source for the metro Atlanta area. Specifically targeting the 17-29-year-olds in the area as a place to come have fun and not be pressured to drink alcohol or consume illicit drug substances. On December 1, 2000, LDOD premiered at the LeFont Plaza Theater (now Plaza Theater) in the Poncey-Highlands neighborhood of Atlanta. Since then, LDOD has performed their screen accurate production every single Friday night at The Plaza Theater and has now advanced on to being the headlining show for DragonCon.
For over 20 years, LDOD has been performing weekly shows with a growing cast and community. Even
the COVID-19 pandemic wasn't enough to kill this cast! LDOD took a hiatus between March to October 2020 to protect our cast and audience's health, all the while we prepared to come back stronger than ever. Over the next year while the pandemic surged and our audience waited with antici...pation for things to get back to normal, LDOD continued to perform twice per month until we were able to safely return to weekly performances in October 2022.
As of June 2023, LDOD has earned the Plaza Theater, our home, over $1,000,000 in gross ticket sales in the 23 years we had performed in their theater. We crossed this Million Dollar Milestone with a sold out crowd of cast alumni and Rocky Horror sluts, along with a special guest appearance by Barry Bostwick, the OG Asshole, himself. As a 501(c)(3), LDOD has never seen a penny of that $1,000,000 or any other revenue generated through ticket sales or concessions of our performance. Every cent goes towards keeping the historic Plaza Theater alive.
betcha haven't seen it like this!
